crafty nutshell

I promise you there's more things to show you that I have done this past year. Ive just got to find where the pictures are hidden on this computer.
It's been a very busy, long year. But I think that it has gone fast. When I think that when we first fell in love with the kids was over a year ago, it blows my mind. Because it just seems like yesterday. And that first year, boy were we busy. There was definitely no grass growing under our feet.
Look how much the kids have changed:

This amazes me. I wish I could have had a bit more baby time with Zaina. She was just on the last few months of her baby stages. But I have enjoyed seeing her grow. Shes so smart. (I might be biased). Shes quite funny. Sometimes she doesn't realize just how funny the things she says are. Shes really alot of fun to be around. Michelle has grown up and it amazes me how much she has changed. Her speech has improved dramatically. Her proper use of the English language is so much better. She has a better relationship with food. We noticed that she hoarded food. It wasn't bad. It was just a "get it while you can" sort of attitude. We've also introduced her to alot of new foods. There was so much that she never experienced. Asparagus, beets, artichokes, real french toast, nectarines, kiwi, bagels. There's probably more. And she has become a much nicer girl, less hostile and offensive. I love that she has the most curious brain. Always interested in all sorts of scientific, how it works, sort of things. That's where her and hubby connect. I love that.
Other than that, shes alot like me. She enjoys being creative too.

Speaking of creative- I was going to show you what all I have made this past year.

lots of updates

Trying new designs on the blog. New header and new things to blog about. And alot to figure out.
Let's see if I can sum it up in a nutshell.
Dec.2009 we were informed that we were going to be the proud parents of 2 girls. But they weren't able to come home with us yet. But we were able to buy them some Christmas presents. Jan. 3,2010 Zaina came to live with us. She was 2 1/2 at the time. The following weekend we started "dating" her older sister,Michelle.
We dated her for about 2 months, then she came to her forever home. They were officially adopted in June.
We were Family! and so Blessed!

Another update is I signed up to be an Independent Consultant with Close To My Heart.
I'm very excited about being this company. Ive enjoyed Jeanette Lynton's idea books for years now, and I love her beautiful, clean layout designs.

I hope to start using this blog more to showcase some of the crafty things I do, as well as share a little family stuff.

Stay Tuned...
